PackBridge, a new cluster initiative within packaging and logistics, has recently been established and was presented for the first time at TrendPack09 – Packaging beyond Recession on the 16th of June at Grand Hotel in Lund, Sweden.
Gunilla Jönson holds a professorship in Packaging and Logistics at Lund University/Faculty of Engineering. She also holds an adjunct professorship at Michigan State University, USA. She has industrial experience from employment at SCA Packaging, Sundsvall, Gothenburg, Brussels and Aylesford, UK and has been responsible for R&D at PackForsk, Sweden. She has worked with packaging related issues for UN, ITC and USAid, among other places in China, Thailand, South- and Central America. She has been Dean at Faculty of Engineering LTH at Lund University and is an active advisor for a number of young PhD students, coming directly from their Master studies. She is a tutor for a number of industrial PhD students, who are concentrating on research within packaging and logistics, covering all aspects from consumer demands, needs for product and packaging development as well as packaging innovations to make efficient and sustainable distribution and traceability possible for different products. She is a board member in several companies and universities/university colleges and is working actively with leadership development of young research leaders. She often participates in different evaluations of research in co-operation with the industry. www.packnyheter.se |
